“Quest” and “question” are linguistic cousins.
Both ultimately trace back to the Latin quaerere — meaning “to seek, search for, ask or inquire.”
Over time, that shared root developed in two directions: a question became the act of asking in order to find something out, while a quest became the journey or search undertaken to find it.
A question starts a quest.
Every quest begins with a question. Curiosity makes us ask. Learning takes us on the quest to find the answer.
