• Brainstorm ideas using a mind map, and plan a short story of about three paragraphs in the correct format.
• Use topic and supporting sentences to build coherent paragraphs.
• Link your paragraphs with connecting words and phrases, and choose a variety of vocabulary.
• Revise your first draft, then edit grammar, spelling and punctuation, using a dictionary to confirm spelling.
• Identify and correct errors in capital letters, punctuation, spelling and paragraphing in your own draft, so each new paragraph starts with a clear break a reader can follow.
