  • Estimate lengths before you measure them.
  • Practically measure 2-D shapes and 3-D objects using rulers, metre sticks, tape measures and trundle wheels.
  • Record, compare and order lengths in millimetres (mm), centimetres (cm), metres (m) and kilometres (km).
  • Convert between mm and cm, cm and m, and m and km, using whole numbers and common fractions such as ½ m.
  • Solve problems in situations involving length.
